The journey

My fitness journey started when I was continually getting comments about how skinny I was and became insecure. Because of this I decided something needed to change. It didn't help I was running cross country, wrestling right after, and then long-distance track. Although, I was determined to put on muscle to make me feel better about myself and gain confidence again. Throughout high school I did slowly put on muscle and still was one of the top runners on my teams. However. I wanted to take it to the highest level with the goal of being a Navy Seal (inspired by my brother), so after high school I spent that whole year training specifically to be a Navy Seal! I got down to a sub 7 min 500yd swim and a sub 8 (1.5 mile) run. However, that November I pulled my hamstring and got completely demoralized. Early that next year (2024) my old coach invited me to do a full IronMan with him and thought if I did it, it would regain my confidence to be a Navy Seal. Therefore, after about 3-4 months of recovery and having about 7-8 months to train, I got to work. The race took place at Chattanooga Sept. 29th, 2024, but just 3 days before the race hurricane Helene hit and they ended up having to cancel the swim portion of the race due to unsafe swimming conditions in the river. I ended up finishing with a time of 9:59 and ended up getting a scholarship to Milligan university for the triathlon team. Things didn't end up working out with tuition being too expensive still, so I believe God planted the seed in me to use my story and what i've learned throughout the years to inspire and help others with their fitness goals!!
